So I'm watching _Crash_ on DVD tonight. I've had it for a while from Netflix, but I've not taken the time to watch it again. I've been too sad lately to watch such a pretty heavy film. But tonight (inspired by seeing the actors on Oprah) I thought I'd take a look again.
It's a film that portrays fear in post-9/11 U.S. They promote it as a film about racism. But that's what racism is, after all--fear of differences, fear of speaking out against injustices, fear of being vulnerable.
So I'm not really in the mood to write a mini-dissertation about race and fear in the U.S. on this blog tonight. But I am writing to say that I think Don Cheadle is a brilliant actor. He delivers his roles beautifully. I wish he'd won the Oscar even though I like Jamie Foxx.
